Being on a hill, this garden has a large raised patio area. The property is rented and the tenants wanted to improve the area and make it safe for their one year old son but without altering or damaging the patio.

They decided to lay TactTiles over the top of the patio, as this floor surface can be removed and re-used at the end of their tenancy, restoring the patio to its original state.

Ivybridge Ivybridge In order to solve the problem of the raised drain lid, sunken slabs and level the area, a layer of TactMatting was laid over the bad uneven areas and sharp sand tamped down to create a level surface.

The whole patio area was then protected with a layer of Tactmatting, which stops weeds, but allows rain water to drain away.

The first row of tiles was then laid in each direction to establish the layout plan.

The completed job laid in TactTiles Briq tiles in Stone Grey and Graphite Grey.  The Graphite Grey creates a 'roadway' for ride on cars.

As the child is still very small, rubber safety Play Mats were laid on the step and outer area to help cushion any tumbles.

The completed installation, making a great outdoor living space for both adults and children.

You would never guess there was an ugly and dangerous raised drain cover under there!

Ugly patio slabs covered and beautiful TactTiles Briq surface created all in one morning.

Goodbye weeds, farewell pressure washing, no more re-grouting and more time to relax.
